Efficient and Effective: This robot vacuum comes with an Auto-Adjust cleaning head to automatically adapt to any surface. This allows the Multi-Surface Brushes to keep close to floors, carpets, and hard floors. The iRobot Roomba 891 also makes use of its multiple smart sensors to navigate your home. It makes more than 60 decisions per second to fully map out your house and adapt to obstacles, stairs, and other drop-offs to thoroughly clean each floor of your home.
Built to Clean: Using its AeroForce 3-Stage Cleaning System along with Power-Lifting Suction technology, the iRobot Roomba 891 delivers 5x more air power for improved performance. This is further enhanced when combined with Advanced Dirt Detect Technology, which recognizes areas of concentrated dirt where it provides additional cleaning. The iRobot Roomba 891 is capable of lifting debris, dirt, and pet hair wherever it settles. It also cleans up to 90 minutes before automatically returning by its dock to recharge.

The Bad
This model may not be the best Roomba has produced, but it is certainly not the worst. Problems that may arise include running for an hour then stopping suddenly. A quick fix for this is to move the docking station around your home for the Roomba to recognize where to clean next.
It is also prone to leaving clumps of debris on the carpet, which may indicate that the suction isn’t clean. This may be due to the opening of the vacuum, which is quite narrow, allowing hair to clog it easily. The hair and dirt then accumulate and block passage through, so you may need to clean it out yourself. This may lead to an unpleasant experience, but aside from those few hiccups, the iRobot Roomba 891 get the job right many times than not.
The Bottom Line
iRobot’s Roomba 891 can be a useful cleaning tool because it has more features than the usual robot vacuum. However, because of a few flaws in its system and interior design, its reputation isn’t as high up as it would like to be, and the price tag that comes along with it doesn’t help.
Because of its high price, it isn’t able to make up for its bulky design and lackluster performance issues. In the end, iRobot has missed the mark with the Roomba 891, and it might be better to look for another model. But if you’re into tech and smart features, and you can forgive the bumps along the way, then maybe the iRobot Roomba 891 can convince you of its worth.

My new #891 is no match for my older(?) model. EVERY time we use it we must walk thru the house picking up clumps of dog hair and dirt! We were recommended this 891 specifically for dog hair. Never did our older & less expensive model have this problem. So why was this 891 so expensive ?
