It also comes with a 12-cup carafe with an ergonomic handle for comfortable, dripless pouring, and is BPA free.
Smart Brewing: Programmable from start to finish, with a variable heater plate for temperature control, the Cuisinart DCC-1200 delivers on every front. Its 24-hour advance brew start, programmable auto shutoff from 0 to 4 hours, and its one to four-cup feature all come in handy to address your coffee needs.
Convenient Features: With a dripless carafe spout, a brew-pause feature that lets you enjoy a cup of coffee before brewing has finished, and an alert for when it is time to decalcify, Cuisinart makes great tasting coffee to suit your busy lifestyle. The Bad
While the Cuisinart DCC-1200 comes with an attractive price tag, it can’t make up for the manufacturer’s lack of attention to detail. The product loses its usefulness over time, as three months later, it doesn’t brew all of the water and produces coffee extremely slowly. This is frustrating enough on its own, but the problems don’t end there.
During times when we need customer service to provide us with a solution, they ask for the product to be shipped back to them to the expense of the customer. Their explanation for this? The DCC-1200’s 3-year warranty doesn’t cover for such damages and will not admit that their product is somewhat flawed. This kind of appalling service is enough to deter customers from purchasing more products.
The Bottom Line
Unfortunately, Cuisinart doesn’t show their best work in the DCC-1200 and instead delivers a product that tries to lure people with its unsuspecting price tag, only to be bitterly disappointed by its performance. And while no product is perfect, this model is a step backward from the usual products we’ve used from this kitchen appliance manufacturer.
The only consolation in this product is the chance that you might end up with one that won’t have any of the defects mentioned above and that hopefully, it lasts years before needing to be replaced. If you are ever lucky enough, you might take home a great performing coffee maker for the low price of $65.
