Medical Alert Basic: This basic plan includes a base station and a wristband or pendant. It requires a landline and features a 300-foot range. It costs $27.99 per month.
Medical Alert Plus: This plan offers an extended range of 600 feet. It has wireless capability and does not require a landline. It comes with a wristband, pendant, or smart fall detection pendant. It costs $33.99 per month.
Medical Alert On-the-Go: This plan is for home and mobile use. Its wireless capability does not require a landline. It comes with a pendant or wristband. It costs $37.99 per month.

The Bad
ADT Medical Alert does not offer a monthly system test. We found that some services would check in monthly to make sure your devices were working properly. However, ADT is in the business of making reliable alarm systems for homes, cars, and seniors, so you don’t have anything to worry about. Help is always a button press away.
ADT Medical Alert also asks for an additional fee to monitor a spouse. Whereas some services don’t charge extra to monitor another person in the same household, ADT Medical Alert charges an extra $5 per month. What we did find is that there are a few services out there that charge an arm and a leg for an extra person, so $5 isn’t that much of a deal breaker for the extra peace of mind.
The Bottom Line
ADT has an excellent reputation as an alarm company, so it’s only natural that they would provide excellent medical alert systems. You might pay extra for a spouse or miss out on extra features like a smartwatch or medication dispenser, but the reliability and customer service you get is well worth it.
